About

Thelia is an open source tool for creating e-business websites and managing online content. This software is published under LGPL. Thelia is the next-generation e-commerce software. It gives Internet users new opportunities. Security, confidence and efficiency are all combined to enhance users' experience and to help merchants to improve the management of their business, their sales and turnover. Thelia 2 has been developed in accordance to web development standards.

Miri Infotech is launching a product which will configure and publish Thelia, an open source CRM software solution which is embedded pre-configured tool with LAMP and ready-to-launch AMI on Amazon EC2 that contains Thelia, Apache, MySQL, Linux, PHP (LAMP).

The core is based on Symfony 2 components and meet the following objectives:

  • Performance
  • Scalability

Thelia has also been developed with an eye on ergonomically optimizing interfaces. The front office and back office are integrated in HTML 5 and in compliance with the semantic web. Fully responsive, they are optimized for all media, enabling sellers to adopt a "mobile first" strategy. Powered by the template engine Smarty, the front-office has been integrated with the unavoidable Bootstrap 3. Beyond its responsiveness, it is fully integrated in html 5 and microdata are used to give more semantic meaning to content and data. Finally, to make integration and maintenance easier, a CSS preprocessor is used to generate the sylesheet with less or sass.

You can subscribe to Thelia, an AWS Marketplace product and launch an instance from the nucleuscms product's AMI using the Amazon EC2 launch wizard.

To launch an instance from the AWS Marketplace using the launch wizard
  • Open the Amazon EC2 console at https://console.aws.amazon.com/ec2/
  • From the Amazon EC2 dashboard, choose Launch Instance.
On the Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) page, choose the AWS Marketplace category on the left. Find a suitable AMI by browsing the categories, or using the search functionality. Choose Select to choose your product.
  • A dialog displays an overview of the product you've selected. You can view the pricing information, as well as any other information that the vendor has provided. When you're ready, choose Continue.
  • On the Choose an Instance Type page, select the hardware configuration and size of the instance to launch. When you're done, choose Next: Configure Instance Details.
  • On the next pages of the wizard, you can configure your instance, add storage, and add tags. For more information about the different options you can configure, see Launching an Instance. Choose Next until you reach the Configure Security Group page.
  • The wizard creates a new security group according to the vendor's specifications for the product. The security group may include rules that allow all IP addresses (0.0.0.0/0) access on SSH (port 22) on Linux or RDP (port 3389) on Windows. We recommend that you adjust these rules to allow only a specific address or range of addresses to access your instance over those ports.
  • When you are ready, choose Review and Launch.
  • On the Review Instance Launch page, check the details of the AMI from which you're about to launch the instance, as well as the other configuration details you set up in the wizard. When you're ready, choose Launch to select or create a key pair, and launch your instance.
  • Depending on the product you've subscribed to, the instance may take a few minutes or more to launch. You are first subscribed to the product before your instance can launch. If there are any problems with your credit card details, you will be asked to update your account details. When the launch confirmation page displays

  • 1What can I do with Amazon S3?

Amazon S3 provides a simple web service interface that you can use to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. Using this web service, you can easily build applications that make use of Internet storage. Since Amazon S3 is highly scalable and you only pay for what you use, you can start small and grow your application as you wish, with no compromise on performance or reliability.

Amazon S3 is also designed to be highly flexible. Store any type and amount of data that you want; read the same piece of data a million times or only for emergency disaster recovery; build a simple FTP application, or a sophisticated web application such as the Amazon.com retail web site. Amazon S3 frees developers to focus on innovation instead of figuring out how to store their data

  • 2How do I choose the right configuration parameters for my DB Instance(s)?

By default, Amazon RDS chooses the optimal configuration parameters for your DB Instance taking into account the instance class and storage capacity. However, if you want to change them, you can do so using the AWS Management Console, the Amazon RDS APIs, or the AWS Command Line Interface. Please note that changing configuration parameters from recommended values can have unintended effects, ranging from degraded performance to system crashes, and should only be attempted by advanced users who wish to assume these risks.

  • 3How do I create a DB instance?

DB instances are simple to create, using either the AWS Management Console, Amazon RDS APIs, or AWS Command Line Interface. To launch a DB instance using the AWS Management Console, click "RDS," then the Launch DB Instance button on the Instances tab. From there, you can specify the parameters for your DB instance including DB engine and version, license model, instance type, storage type and amount, and master user credentials.

You also have the ability to change your DB instance’s backup retention policy, preferred backup window, and scheduled maintenance window. Alternatively, you can create your DB instance using the CreateDBInstance API or create-db-instance command.

  • 4How many databases or schemas can I run within a DB instance?

    • RDS for Amazon Aurora: No limit imposed by software
    • RDS for MySQL: No limit imposed by software
    • RDS for MariaDB: No limit imposed by software
    • RDS for Oracle: 1 database per instance; no limit on number of schemas per database imposed by software
    • RDS for SQL Server: 30 databases per instance
    • RDS for PostgreSQL: No limit imposed by software

  • 5What is Versioning?

Versioning allows you to preserve, retrieve, and restore every version of every object stored in an Amazon S3 bucket. Once you enable Versioning for a bucket, Amazon S3 preserves existing objects anytime you perform a PUT, POST, COPY, or DELETE operation on them. By default, GET requests will retrieve the most recently written version. Older versions of an overwritten or deleted object can be retrieved by specifying a version in the request.

  • 6Benefits of using a CMS?

Taking control of your site with a content management system also has great advantages as far as your search engine rankings are concerned. All search engines like to see that websites are updated regularly and favor sites that alter their content on a regular basis. Our CMS platform provides search engine friendly web pages and also allows you to create your own page titles and meta tags used by the Search Engines for page rankings.

  • 7May I use either a PC or Mac?

The CMS is browser-based and will work on both PC and Mac platforms using either Internet Explorer and Firefox. Keyboard shortcuts may vary between the two systems.

  • 8I linked to an existing CMS page, but the link appears to be broken. Help?

    1) Reattach the link. If the page was renamed, the link might have been affected.

    2) Confirm that the folder and content block do not contain special characters (such as ‘ “ # % & + / : ; < > ) in the title.

When in doubt, avoid using non-numerical or -alphabetical characters.

  • 9How to decide which CMS?

Requirements gathering is crucial, to make sure you buy on what you need, not on the shiny features that look good in the demonstration.

  • 10Once I have settled on a CMS, that’s all my content problems solved then?

Another important factor is how easy the system is to use – most likely, the people you’d like to update the site won’t be that technically comfortable, so the best solution is one that has solid usability.

no. That is the biggest myth of CMSs. Most of the time, the real issues in content creation are around people and processes, not the technology. You need to manage your content creation like any other project – with a clear workflow and timetable, and enough people—with the right skills—to handle what you need to create. The CMS will help you get the content on to the site, but the much more difficult challenge is creating it. And computers don’t write very well.

  • 11How does a CMS work?

The Web CMS does not require any special software or any technical knowledge to use. It is a web-based platform and can be accessed wherever you have an Internet connection and a web browser. The interface is very similar to Microsoft Word and does all of the HTML coding for you. You can concentrate on the content and not worry about how it will affect the page layout. It also automatically optimizes your site’s content for search, so that when someone searches for information on your site it is more likely to be found.
