An AWS product OpenDocMan + Apache + MySQL + PHP powered by MIRI Infotech. OpenDocMan is a free, web-based, open source document management system (DMS) written in PHP designed to comply with ISO 17025 and OIE standard for document management.

We are Launching a product which will configure and publish OpenDocMan embedded pre-configured with LAMP and ready-to-launch AMI on Amazon EC2 that contains phpBB, Apache, MySQL, Linux, PHP (LAMP).

It has following features :

OpenDocMan was developed under the open source GPL license, which in a nutshell allows you to use the program for free and modify it in any way you wish to. We also encourage feedback from our users when they encounter issues, or have suggestions. Free document management software is good for you.

Usage / Deployment Instruction

Open the URL: http://<instance ip address>/

From the installation process

Step1: Click on Create a configuration file button

Step2: View requirement and click on Let’s Go button

Step3: Please fill up Configure settings

Database name : miriopendocmandb

User Name (database): miriopendocman

password : <instanceID>

Database Host: localhost

Administrator Password : (Any password of your choice)

Data Directory : /var/www/html/odm_data

Base URL : http://<instance ip address>

Step 4: Click on Run the Install

Step 5: Click on Setup database button

Step 6: Confirmation message. Now can open the site with URL http://<instance ip address>/

After Installation, SSH using root user is disabled. ec2-user is the sudo user with root privileges with access using the key pair created during launching the instance.

MYSQL can be accessed only with SSH

You can subscribe to OpenDocMan, an AWS Marketplace product and launch an instance from the product's AMI using the Amazon EC2 launch wizard.

To launch an instance from the AWS Marketplace using the launch wizard
  • Open the Amazon EC2 console at
  • From the Amazon EC2 dashboard, choose Launch Instance.
    On the Choose an Amazon Machine Image (AMI) page, choose the AWS Marketplace category on the left. Find a suitable AMI by browsing the categories, or using the search functionality. Click Select to choose your product.
  • A dialog displays an overview of the product you've selected. You can view the pricing information, as well as any other information that the vendor has provided. When you're ready, choose Continue.
  • On the Choose an Instance Type page, select the hardware configuration and size of the instance to launch. When you're done, choose Next: Configure Instance Details.
  • On the next pages of the wizard, you can configure your instance, add storage, and add tags. For more information about the different options you can configure, see Launching an Instance. Choose Next until you reach the Configure Security Group page.
  • The wizard creates a new security group according to the vendor's specifications for the product. The security group may include rules that allow all IP addresses ( access on SSH (port 22) on Linux or RDP (port 3389) on Windows. We recommend that you adjust these rules to allow only a specific address or range of addresses to access your instance over those ports.
  • When you are ready, choose Review and Launch.
  • On the Review Instance Launch page, check the details of the AMI from which you're about to launch the instance, as well as the other configuration details you set up in the wizard. When you're ready, choose Launch to select or create a key pair, and launch your instance.
  • Depending on the product you've subscribed to, the instance may take a few minutes or more to launch. You are first subscribed to the product before your instance can launch. If there are any problems with your credit card details, you will be asked to update your account details when the launch confirmation page displays
  • 1What are the connectivity options for my VPC?

    You may connect your VPC to:

    • The Internet (via an Internet gateway)
    • Your corporate data center using a Hardware VPN connection (via the virtual private gateway)
    • Both the Internet and your corporate data center (utilizing both an Internet gateway and a virtual private gateway)
    • Other AWS services (via Internet gateway, NAT, virtual private gateway, or VPC endpoints)
    • Other VPCs (via VPC peering connections)


  • 2Which customer gateway devices can I use to connect to Amazon VPC?

    There are two types of VPN connections that you can create: statically-routed VPN connections and dynamically-routed VPN connections. Customer gateway devices supporting statically-routed VPN connections must be able to:

    • Establish IKE Security Association using Pre-Shared Keys
    • Establish IPsec Security Associations in Tunnel mode
    • Utilize the AES 128-bit or 256-bit encryption function
    • Utilize the SHA-1 or SHA-2 (256) hashing function
    • Utilize Diffie-Hellman (DH) Perfect Forward Secrecy in "Group 2" mode, or one of the additional DH groups we support
    • Perform packet fragmentation prior to encryption

    In addition to the above capabilities, devices supporting dynamically-routed VPN connections must be able to:

    • Establish Border Gateway Protocol (BGP) peerings
    • Bind tunnels to logical interfaces (route-based VPN)

  • 3How do I secure Amazon EC2 instances running within my VPC?

    Amazon EC2 security groups can be used to help secure instances within an Amazon VPC. Security groups in a VPC enable you to specify both inbound and outbound network traffic that is allowed to or from each Amazon EC2 instance. Traffic which is not explicitly allowed to or from an instance is automatically denied.

    In addition to security groups, network traffic entering and exiting each subnet can be allowed or denied via network Access Control Lists (ACLs).


  • 4How is Amazon S3 data organized?

    Amazon S3 is a simple key-based object store. When you store data, you assign a unique object key that can later be used to retrieve the data. Keys can be any string, and they can be constructed to mimic hierarchical attributes. Alternatively, you can use S3 Object Tagging to organize your data across all of your S3 buckets and/or prefixes. 


  • 5What does Amazon RDS manage on my behalf?

    Amazon RDS manages the work involved in setting up a relational database: from provisioning the infrastructure capacity you request to installing the database software. Once your database is up and running, Amazon RDS automates common administrative tasks such as performing backups and patching the software that powers your database. With optional Multi-AZ deployments, Amazon RDS also manages synchronous data replication across Availability Zones with automatic failover.

    Since Amazon RDS provides native database access, you interact with the relational database software as you normally would. This means you're still responsible for managing the database settings that are specific to your application. You'll need to build the relational schema that best fits your use case and are responsible for any performance tuning to optimize your database for your application’s workflow.

  • 6How do I choose the right configuration parameters for my DB Instance(s)?

    By default, Amazon RDS chooses the optimal configuration parameters for your DB Instance taking into account the instance class and storage capacity. However, if you want to change them, you can do so using the AWS Management Console, the Amazon RDS APIs, or the AWS Command Line Interface. Please note that changing configuration parameters from recommended values can have unintended effects, ranging from degraded performance to system crashes, and should only be attempted by advanced users who wish to assume these risks.


  • 7What should I do if my queries seem to be running slow?

    For production databases we encourage you to enable Enhanced Monitoring, which provides access to over 50 CPU, memory, file system, and disk I/O metrics. You can enable these features on a per-instance basis and you can choose the granularity (all the way down to 1 second). High levels of CPU utilization can reduce query performance and in this case you may want to consider scaling your DB instance class. For more information on monitoring your DB instance, refer to the Amazon RDS User Guide.

    If you are using RDS for MySQL or MariaDB, you can access the slow query logs for your database to determine if there are slow-running SQL queries and, if so, the performance characteristics of each. You could set the "slow_query_log" DB Parameter and query the mysql.slow_log table to review the slow-running SQL queries. Please refer to the Amazon RDS User Guide to learn more.

    If you are using RDS for Oracle, you can use the Oracle trace file data to identify slow queries. For more information on accessing trace file data, please refer to Amazon RDS User Guide.

    If you are using RDS for SQL Server, you can use the client side SQL Server traces to identify slow queries. For information on accessing server side trace file data, please refer to Amazon RDS User Guide.

  • 8Benefits of using a CMS?

    Taking control of your site with a content management system also has great advantages as far as your search engine rankings are concerned. All search engines like to see that websites are updated regularly and favor sites that alter their content on a regular basis. Our CMS platform provides search engine friendly web pages and also allows you to create your own page titles and meta tags used by the Search Engines for page rankings.


  • 9May I use either a PC or Mac?

    The CMS is browser-based and will work on both PC and Mac platforms using either Internet Explorer and Firefox. Keyboard shortcuts may vary between the two systems.

  • 10I linked to an existing CMS page, but the link appears to be broken. Help?

    1) Reattach the link. If the page was renamed, the link might have been affected.

    2) Confirm that the folder and content block do not contain special characters (such as ‘ “ # % & + / : ; < > ) in the title.

    When in doubt, avoid using non-numerical or -alphabetical characters.

You need to manage your content creation like any other project – with a clear workflow and timetable, and enough people—with the right skills—to handle what you need to create. The CMS will help you get the content on to the site, but the much more difficult challenge is creating it. And computers don’t write very well.
